A Chained Melody

If the Lanvin happy snakeskin chained shoulder bag doesn’t get you singing then I don’t know what will. Once in a while a bag comes around that is so luxurious and perfect that it can be extremely difficult not to stare and that is just the case with this scaled snake beauty of an accessory.

As well as the fabulous print the bag’s taupe and gold tone colours will add just a little extra something to your daily outfits, like softening up your work attire or breaking up a sea of black. Oh and for cult Lanvin collectors the bag is sealed with the timeless Lanvin crest.
Definitely singing in the right tune.

Italians Do it Better

Italians put sexy down the runway better then anyone, prime example, the Emilio Pucci fall winter collection at Milan fashion week. Freja, Natasha, and Abby Lee Kershaw stomped down the runway in what only can be described as the lovechild of Pucci and its many groupies. Creative director Peter Dundas commanded an all or nothing attitude to his garments this season, as models slithered down the runway in floor skimming skirts or the shortest of leg bearing minis.

Opulence and glamour gave the collection a beautiful 70’s feel featuring fringed flowing bell bottoms, shaggy fur coats and fresh luxe tailored jackets. Belts, skirts, trousers and leather jackets paid particular attention to the waist making the line up ultra feminine.

Looking for attention this winter? Head to Pucci for Italian glamour that is never forgotten.

Leigh Down The Law

Taking a moment to pay tribute to the one and only Leigh Lezark model, DJ, style icon and front row darling. I admire Leigh’s tough rock and roll look from her blue black hair and porcelain skin to her smouldering dark eyes, she’s the new girl on the block.

A style that’s polished yet simple, (think ladies who lunch and caught in a corner of CBGB’s ) you’ll probably catch Leigh in leather leggings, shrunken jackets, second skin body con dresses and out of this world sequined vintage treasures. Leigh reminds me of an urban Edie Sedgwick, if Mr Warhol were alive today it goes without saying Leigh Lezark would definitely be a factory girl.

Sell Your Sole

Sell your sole to the devil you must, for these sinful shoe boots. Created by the holy grail of the high heel, Christian Louboutin for Mary Katrantzou in her fall/winter show at London fashion week, just three days ago.
This is why fall is my favourite season because this is exactly what appears on the runways boots, boots and more boots. I’m guessing price is on request or made to order so don’t expect to see them on department store shelves anytime soon. These beauties with at least a killer six inch heel, will command the attention of any room, destined to be worn by a leather clad, studded rock chick, are definitely not for the faint hearted.

The best accessory to match the shoes? One bad attitude

School Boy Error

Getting Butterflies on the first day of school? More like getting butterflies watching Philip Lim’s new Blazers flutter down the runway. I believe the blazer, just like the six inch heels and the little black dress, should be an absolute must in every girl’s new uniform.

Season after season they return to the runways, through the department stores and into our closets from Balmain’s fierce embellished shoulder pads, to Stella McCartney’s studio 54–esque little numbers, there is something for everybody. A blazer can add a number of things to ones ensemble, give you a better waistline, toughen up a girly dress, smarten up a plain t-shirt, define shoulders, not to mention hiding ‘last nights sins’ at the office. Above are some of the must have blazers out there, first day of school or not, get educated.
From top to bottom.

Philip Lim FALL 2010 black piped blazer – Straight from the runway, also available in baby blue, my favourite piece from the entire collection.

Stella McCartney shantung silk single breasted blazer – Think Miami vice, without the bad hair or bad one liner’s.

Balmain cotton canvas studded military blazer – As a self confessed Balmanic , this baby has a definite call to arms.

Elizabeth and James James twirl blazer – Affordable, chic and timeless, those Olsen girls can do no wrong.

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket...

Take a deep breath and look to the stars and there you shall find Marchesa. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are well established Queens of red carpet glamour, but yet again they have managed to turn out a new autumn winter collection that is literally just out of this world.

Filled with romantic ruffled cocktail dresses, a colour palette of sensuous nudes, subtle pinks, night garden blacks and eye glazing whites, it will bring out the inner Barbie of any tomboy. Stars feature throughout the collection cascading across the chest and through the romantic swirls and layers of lace to create the perfect little black dress.
Though I fell deeply in love with every dress, above are a few of my favourites. These dresses will own Cannes film festival, the Met ball; Art of Elysium, the list could go on.

So next time you see a shooting star close your eyes, whisper to the fashion gods and wish for Marchesa.

Into The Wild

Feathers? Check. Sequins? Check. Metallic’s? Check. Festival season is almost upon us, so whether your heading to Glastonbury or Coachella this year, set your eyes boys and girls on this major new waistcoat brought to us by the one and only Matthew Williamson.

Matthew season after season always seems to give you that tight knotted fashion flip in your stomach when you set your eyes on his festival perfect, bohemian creations. When I look at the waistcoat it makes me want to reach for my ray bans and turn up the Fleetwood because you realise spring is almost here.
Throw the waistcoat over a plain tank, stack your arms with cuffs and bracelets, add fedora, slouchy knee boots and cute denim cut offs and your an instant festival goddess. However by all means feel free to wear over a LBD as a perfect summer update to a classic, as this little beauty should not be neglected through the seasons.

Just one last thing to add though I can’t help but wonder that there might still be something missing with the waistcoat, Mick Jagger?

Calm Your Templer

As I sit flicking through a personal stack of magazines and endless fashion books I can't help but gaze and admire at the beauty of Karl Templers work and understand why this man after so long is still such a powerful force in the fashion world. Calm is not by any means an emotion inflicted upon you when you look at one of Karl's creations, most often when you look at pieces of his work you are not even looking at the clothes but more the drama, the depth and the story he captures with his extraordinary vision.

As one of the worlds most sought after fashion editors/stylist's Karl has had a career that only most of us could dream of ,with a ten year stint at Arena Homme plus as editor in chief, countless international magazine covers and most importantly Francisco Costa's right hand man at Calvin Klein.

Mr Templer does not just create photographs, he does not just edit fashion and he doesn't just style editorials, he demands the energy on every page ,creates the characters and tells the enchanting stories, a story I will be forever reading.

Obey Thy Sultan

Peasant chic at its best, I introduce you to Sultan Wash inspired from the uniforms of Chinese military, created by Jeremy Sultan. Sultan Wash shows us what dressing like a red blooded Parisian is really about. The attention to detail in every piece is exquisite from the frail creases in the collars of the shirts, to the delicate wash of soothing earth tones that run through every stitch of the 100% all natural fabrics.

What makes Sultan Wash so special for me is that I could easily see every piece draping on from a French washing line from one flower bedded apartment window to another, in a quiet Paris alley building. The collection is filled with the dopest utility jackets, body touch tanks and silhouette perfect knitwear, classic, simple and light I dare you not to adore. Pull a studded belt around the Parker and fingerless knitted gloves on your hands and your good to walk the St Germain.

Wearing Sultan Wash feels like climbing out of bed and into your boyfriends clothes instantly dressed, instantly irresistible and instantly out the door.

Down on the Bowery

Once upon a time there were two best friends who found themselves walking the streets of New York, along their journey they wondered onto the Bowery. The Bowery is home to one of my favourite boutiques in the world, Blue and Cream. For me Blue and Cream completely symbolises what New York style is all about, carrying labels such as Charlotte Ronson, Philip Lim, Elizabeth & James, Alexander Wang and many others. A girl is completely spoilt for choice.
Also I have to give credit to Blue & Cream's private Label, which is the boutiques own brand, holding personally, one of my favourite plain white tee's.To me Blue and Cream is not like shopping its like looking around one great big closet and playing dress up.
Not only is the store in a great spot but its also located in one of the best areas of downtown New York (Patrica Fields store is across the street but that's another story). I have only been lucky enough to visit the Bowery location of the store but B&C also resides in Southampton, hopefully one day we will be paying a visit.

Oh and in case your interested those two best friends left with two Elizabeth & James plaid shirts, one Elizabeth & James white tee, a Yigal Azrouel waistcoat, a Philip Lim cardigan and two Blue and Cream private label t-shirts. Fairy tales always have happy endings.

Death By Talons

Jewelry should definitely make a statement and what better way to give attitude then with Pamela Love. The silver plated dagger rosary necklace is out of control. The dagger just adds the right amount of bad ass to the girly twists of rosary around ones neck.
Best to last the, Talon cuff. Talons featured heavily in Pamela's collection a design so simple yet so unique. Layer the cuff with more loose bohemian wrist wear by day or rock solo with a cocktail dress by dark.

Some kind of Wasson

Finally the day has come for Erin Wasson to debut her her fall ready to wear collection, and that she did Thursday night in New York. Btw model turned designer so more chic then model turned actress see for yourself.

Dreaming Down Under

A first official post and what a way to begin with Ellery. Kym Ellery the creative genius behind the 2007 born Ellery has created a line that every girl will instantly fall in love with playful and feminine every piece has that 'sexy tomboy I just rolled out of bed look'. Every time I flick the page on the current collection there is nothing I wouldn't wear. But at a push I have managed to pick my favourite looks

The Jacket- I d.i.e for this jacket! I love everything about it from the crisp white colour (btw very hard to find a good white) to the embellished shoulder. But my favourite part? The structured waist creates the perfect illusion so that everyone looks like they have an itzy bitzy waistline.

The Dress - Dresses like these are an absolute staples for me they go with everything!! You could throw this on for work with endless amounts of looks tights, shoe boots ,knee boots, throw on a blazer etc. For a date or drinks with classic pumps, over leggings or even everyday with bare legs and flat boots and cute knee socks I could go on and on!! But personally the favourite thing about it for me is the long sleeves 1 because I always feel sexier in a long sleeve when the hemline is a little shorter and 2 long sleeves opens trillions of doors for different accessories.

The Romper - By far one of the best tailored little rompers my eyes have had the pleasure of seeing. The real reason I love this is because it instantly reminded me of one of my favorite fictional characters. Anybody see the Alfie remake with Jude Law? Nikki played by Sienna Miller the young crazy outspoken blonde portrays the perfect London girl to me and I can just imagine Nikki wearing this with ballet pumps and beanie by day and sky high platforms and leather jacket come night.
